My LCD panels on the instrument cluster have been staying on even when the key is removed and the car is locked. I first noticed it a few days ago when I left the office and saw those lights on in the car. After a bit of searching, I decided to replace the electrical part of the ignition switch. It wasn't too bad of a job and I think it may have been done before because the screws were fairly easy to turn (no lock-tight) but the problem remains. So more searching. If anyone has thoughts on this, I'm all ears (and eyes!). Oh, and I noticed a jumper wire may have come loose while I was working in that area, now I have to remember what I had "upgraded" with a jumper... :-)

So, quick update - it turns out that if your odometer reset button is a bit sticky, it might not fully pop back out after resetting the trip odometer. A slight touch and it popped back out and my lights went off. Good thing I was thinking of replacing my ignition switch anyway.

Got into the heater duct today and patched the holes in the vent doors, complete success... why I'm doing this towards the end of winter instead of the beginning is a mystery, but how to do it was not, thanks to a handy youtube video TTGator posted a few years ago. Heat works just fine now.

Two weeks ago: replaced both axles in my 2001 S, because the outer left boot was leaking and the axles had never been replaced (~105,000 mi).

Today: noticed that both outer boots on the new axles have already leaked what looks like their entire contents of CV grease.

I rarely drive/commute into NYC unless it'a a weekend. But yesterday's weather combined with the first full day of Spring... I could not resist.
Nice 19 mile ride in, no traffic. Spring break week for the school system so no congestion.
After my usual meetings-after-meetings I anticipated a drive home with the top-down for the first time since the Fall.

Even though it was 62 degrees when I jumped in the cockpit it was not to be. Sun was coming down and with darkness approaching you could still feel the hint of Winter in the air. I didn't want to be "that guy" with the top down in the obvious cold (but I wanted to be, haha).

Best I could do was windows down and music blasting. It was enough and I took the "longish" way home. What a pleasure to drive!

I gave up caring what others think! 62 degrees is perfect, I have driven top down with much colder temps. Others are just jealous of "that guy"

Did a little more work on the Off-Roadster project. Rebuilt and installed CV axles and struts with heavier springs. Lots of work left to do.

So far I've only taken it for a quick test drive to about 35 mph around the neighborhood. The handling feels more like an SUV than a typical sports car. It wanted to drive over curbs and crush small cars, but it felt good. The plan is to have this one done in May to take to the Gambler 500 Mexico. -Have fun with some friends and do some clean up along the Texas-Mexico border.
