I picked the AX7000 specifically because it puts out 45w RMS, and my car had the factory head unit and amp replaced already. I figured I would have to either get a 4+ channel amp or run the dash/door speakers directly off the head unit, and this Sony has enough power to do it. If your head unit and/or amp are still factory, that is irrelevant.

The volume buttons are pretty easy to hit without looking so far, you might want to check out some of their newer stuff to see if the screen quality has improved- the Crutchfield reviews make me think they have, and the 7000 is a few years old already.
