Installed new water pump & low temperature thermostat. Temperature needle now sits between the '1' and the '8' rather than just to the right of the '0'.

Great job Alex! Time to get out and enjoy with top off before it's officially too hot!

Thanks, Don. The car has been off the road for some time with a failed water pump (thankfully, no broken impeller parts or damage to the block). The finely-tuned automobile from the other Stuttgart manufacturer developed a camshaft adjuster problem, so it was easier and quicker to replace the water pump & thermostat in the Boxster. It's now my daily driver until I can pluck up enough courage to replace the camshaft adjusters and timing chain. I hope all is well with you.

Took my mom for her first ride in a Porsche. Unfortunately it was too hot to keep the top down. Maybe some other time.

No, it was the coolant expansion tank. In hindsight, I should have replaced all three at the same time.

Replaced the cam timing chain guides and made another detailed DIY video on it!

Installed new Apex Racing wheels and tires, finally got a set of OEM Aerokit 2 side skirts (thank you Rick a.k.a. RedTele58!) to match the front GT3 bumper, and resprayed the nasty front end. Car looks 20 years younger now

More pics coming after a mild interior refresh

Javi - you need a complete different thread for your car w/ lot's of interior pics when you're done.

I'm really happy the way your car turned out. There's only a few 986 Boxsters builds around that I like better than a few of mine. Yours is one of them.

Stunning, JB.
And what about the blue covers? Can't decide which headlights to use?

Ya lol, those are my factory Xenon's. I did the full xenon high and low beam conversion to them and thought I'd try them out. 🙂

Turn signal and frunk latch

My frunk was not opening properly so I replaced the mechanical portion of the latch assembly. The old one had a loose and weak release spring. New one opens with a decidedly better ‘thunk’ and the emergency release now works.

I also replaced the turn signal/windshield washer/cruise control module behind the steering wheel. My turn signal lever was not returning to off and was occasionally not engaging when activated. A common problem I discovered after doing research here and on Rennlist.

With the help of the Bentley Manual and some great YouTube videos I completed both repairs in a couple of hours. Once again 986Forum and Rennlist members come to the rescue.
