found a great new route in So Cal. Well new to me at least. From the valley go to Little Tujunga Canyon. As a side note Car and Driver wrote about part of this in the June issue. Basically, take Little Tujunga all the way into Santa Clarita. It turns into Sand Canyon and hits the 14. There is a In n Out at the end of Sand Canyon and if you time it right you can get lunch. After lunch go past the 14 and make a right on Soledad Canyon Rd. Take this to Sierra Hwy and continue to Palmdale. About a mile or so make a right on Angeles Forrest Hwy. You then take this to Big Tujunga Canyon Rd to the end. Took this today on a whim. I was just going to go back after I went to In n Out, but for some reason there was a bit of road work going on so I thought about going all the way to Angeles Forrest and I am glad I did. This was a great route. You also have 2 other options on Angeles Forrest, you could make a right on Upper Big Tujunga which leads to Angeles Crest, or stay on Angeles Forrest to Angeles Crest. Both of these are good options if you are looking to make it a longer drive. Today was a great day for a great drive.

We are truly blessed in southern California with great roads and weather. I am less than ten minutes from a trip up Mt. Baldy, with the option of Glendora Ridge for a bit longer route.

I overfilled on my last(and first for me) oil change on the 99. Got it back up on the lift, dumped out what was in the filter canister, and now it's perfect lol! Unfortunately didn't have time to swap O2 sensors to see if codes followed but maybe next weekend.

I sold my 2001 S for a '03 M3 Cabriolet. The 986 was very clean and low mileage but I needed the back seats and this was the best compromise. Funny but they all have their issues that need sorting and monitoring so I move from IMS Anxiety to other stuff anxiety
So far so good - the drive is not as refined as the Porsche but I do prefer the seating comfort and the loss of that ridiculously large steering wheel. I prefer the sight lines too. I'll miss the 986 but maybe some day I'll venture back. Cheers!

I went with a Max Jax in my garage. A lift helps so much. Especially if you have injuries or are in any way mobility limited.

Fred - that's awesome! I was thinking this past weekend that I needed covers for several sets of my humps - you just saved me a bunch time, energy and brain cells. I'll get my upholstery guy on this. Thanks!

It's very difficult to swallow the price for a set of OEM ones but I may
choose that route. Do they have some padding in there?

Today I was at New Jersey Motorsports Park's Lightning track for the first day of a 2 day HPDE. Had a great day, no AOS smoke bomb issues like I had at Watkins Glen in August. Tomorrow looks like rain but fingers crossed I'll get a couple of sessions in.

I replaced the trailing arms today and got rid of my suspension clunk.

Swapped in a new top and managed to lose tack of one of the push arms once and poked a whole in the foam liner.
