Sick!! I'm looking into doing that to my sport seats. Did you leave the upholstery on? Any tips for disassembly and reassembly?

Hi Javi, I completely disassembled the seats because I’m doing new upholstery, so the upholstery was off and the seat backs were separated from the frames. There are some videos on YouTube about separating the seat backs for painting. Just search on ‘996 sport seat’.

My seat backs were coated with the notorious soft rubber which is used on many parts of the interior so you may have to deal with that during prep.

There’s a video showing someone wrapping 987 sport seats with the upholstery on, but even there he comments that it would have been better to remove the upholstery.
