Took it out for an early morning drive. Found this old covered bridge built in 1897. The lattice wood construction with wood pegs holding most of it together was pretty impressive. Although, I'm not sure I'd want to drive anything larger than a Boxster over it.

Two weeks ago I had a 3 day HPDE at VIR, about a 540 mile drive from home. Of course, a week before the drive I saw that the inner projector lens came unglued from the shroud in the driver side
of my Nine8Six lights. UGH, I didn't want to drive all that way, on the track and back home again with that lens rattling around inside. So I found some very used headlights on Craigslist - 2 halogen with orange turn signals and two litronics, the passenger side with a cracked lens and the driver side with some wiring issues. The Halogen driver side was useable although very cloudy and the inner lens very burned, but I put some bulbs in it and put it in my car and it worked.

Back home from VIR last weekend I started working on my headlght in need of repair. This weekend I got it all back together and everything still works! That really pleased me as there was some soldering involved which is not something I excel at. Tomorrow I should be able to install the outer lens with new Permatex silicone. After a day of curing I will install it and do the final aiming.

Over the winter I am going to make 1 set of spare headlights using the 2 amber units and the reflector bowls from the litronics, which I think I will be able to convert to bi-xenon projectors with some Morimoto minis.

Picture of me at VIR in the Climbing Esses with mis-matched headlights-

Pictures of my handiwork (If these pictures are still upside down I tried 3 times to fix it)-

Nice work I kept my old set of head lights for this very reason, you just never know and I can always sell them if I ever sell the car, or, most likely, just give them to the new owner.

I exited the Porsche world.I traded my boxster for something I can use everyday. It was some what depressing.
But I'm thinking when the dust settles in a couple years a 996 or 997 may be next.

I’m supposed to be fixing my braking issue (new pads and new/used MC are on the bench), but have been screwing around with this instead |

Likewise I considered a trade, but I'm already married. I get more use from the car.

What did you get?

That is great. Did you consider doing the ones behind the LCDs? When I did mine I did them all.

That is really cool PW. Do you have a 3D printer to make your prototype surround?

I have done behind the LCD's that's why they are green. To create the original orange there is a yellow piece of plastic that the original red LED's went through creating the orange so with that yellow piece of plastic still in there it's created the green with the blue LED's. I will replace the yellow plastic with a white piece at some point

I went for a mid-size pickup truck - Nissan Frontier Pro 4x (They have been around for a long time, basically unchanged - That's why I went that way)
Funny thing is I traded my 3 year old Nissan Xterra for my Boxster because I wanted a car, then I trade my Boxster in for a Nissan PU

removed the yellow filters from the LCD displays and drew around them on a white ice cream tub, cut them out and installed them. Perfect result :-) |

That's right, you BASTARD!!! I WON!!!
I spent most of the weekend fighting Satan's ball joint. With a lot of hitting, spitting, cursing and violence it finally came out.
