In the interim, I just had the new Cocoa Sonnendeck top installed and I’m waiting on my new DCT steering wheel and Classic9 leather upholestery to arrive. Both are in Napa cocoa leather with silver stitching.
New PSS9s are in and will be installed next week.
I’d post pictures but I still cannot upload pics to any Pelican site without using Tapatalk and I’m just tired of Pelican’s refusal to address this issues for years now.

Oldcarguy, that is cool! Will the boxster's drivetrain support the swap without any upgrades? What kind of hp/torque are you looking from the upgrade?

New DIY: Replaced my brake lines with stainless steel. While I had the calipers off to paint them I went ahead and did this upgrade, but split the DIY into two videos.

I finished taking everything apart last night. Only things holding the carriers are the driveshafts and parking brake cables. The carriers propped up with buckets.
Becasue I'm upgrading to Boxster S shocks and springs, I need to upgrade to the compensation ring from 3.5mm to 6mm. Parts are on there way from Germany. So I'm stuck for a week.........should have ordered these before I started!
Any other suggestions on what I should tackle while it's all apart?

Took it out for its first official PNW drive. Didn’t go very far as I’m still working on a brake issue, but it was nice, anyway.

Yeah.....a little less typing and a little more "building cool parts for me", yeah? Hahaha.
Hope you're well!

Got my rear suspension refresh all bolted back together. Brakes, tires and then alignment. But while it's all jacked up I'll change the oil.
Fun little project. I'll get around to my front suspension soon enough.

Hi Ciao, because every build is different FSI doesn’t quote hp or torque gains in advance. We’ll have to wait for the dyno runs. Also, FSI is doing a custom 93 octane tune (included is their tuner which stores up to 5 tunes). They indicate that the custom tune will be more effective on my 550 SE due to the 987 intake parts and my Fabspeed mid pipes with the FVD Brombacher muffler. Probably minor improvements but worth the effort IMHO. So the dyno runs will reflect the sum of all parts.
The focus of the Stage 1+ engine is mid range torque more than hp. In any event, FSI says there is no problem with the stock 6 spd handling even their Stage 2 or race engines if the drivetrain is in good shape going in.

Thanks Oldcarguy. I believe the gains will be impressive and more cost effective in terms of buying HP for your current Porche than buying a new one. I hope the build is durable and longlasting. I've noticed typically factory specs w/out mods make for a long lasting engine 275K miles plus. But specing your engine from the bottom end up may be a better solution than just a tune or increasing intake/exhaust flows.

Changed oil, oil filter, and topped off with Tier One fuel, stabilizer, storage insurance. Need to air up tires, put on battery tender, loosen top, and cover.

Replaced top and bottom idler pulleys and belt tensioner, and picked up two sets of lobster claws.
Next up: AOS. Parts ordered and awaiting next weekend's garage time.

I’m still working on the model...not sure yet. I don’t like my 5” Android screen rear view mirror. I did at first, now it’s size (the entire mirror) is getting annoying. Thinking about cutting the mirrored glass off and moving the screen.
I’ll probably end up going the double din route eventually, but I really like this smaller screen and want to try this out.
