You got the wrong kit for your console.

Looks great!!
I did double din on my 996. I have to do a small filler below the bezel. Not that bad though.

In addition to painting my exhaust tip, and installing those awesome facelift vents, I pulled out the trunk carpet... the wood platforms underneath... and installed a radiant heat barrier (silver both sides, 16"x25' roll, The Home Depot).
Next time I go for a cruise upon my return I'll check to see if at all it helped keep the trunk heat down, and will report upon this forum my findings.
Congrats on the Quik Jack, Brian!

The vents look great, imho. The painted tailpipe... not so much.
I'd painted it before... but the paint didn't stick... so I'd end up sanding down the pipe leaving it looking like ****************. Again I used engine paint... prepped... warmed the pipe... put on about 4 coats in between letting each coat dry. After the final coat heated up the pipe nicely... looked great.
Keyword: Looked. I did the finger test... running it on the underside of the tip... my finger emerging black. Quickly the gloss faded and is almost powdered. Where I run my finger... the paint comes with it. So... I'll go out today and remove the paint exposing the "brushed" stainless "look".
That said... next mod will be a chan-exhaust.

Thank you. Stock 16s. I have another set with some Pirelliwhatevers, and powdercoated in metallic silver/grey. I sawp the sets every so often.
The powdercoater in town (who did my 8 wheels) wants to respray the silver/grey to a slightly metallic red... to match the interior. I don't know. Thoughts?
The last 2 Mustangs (convertibles) I owned (08 & 12) were silver. Black was all I had to run with. Silver and black... yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. if it weren't for the red interior on my 98 I'd fall asleep.
Red wheels. Watcha think?

I'm not one for design, but I think leaving the rims as they are but adding a red accent line all the way around. Something like this:
