The car is still settling down after an engine swap. I took it out to a local indy shop and he gave me the latest version of the coolant cap--I gave him my K&N oil filters which I don't need since I got the spin on adapter.

It really is settling down! The D-4 lights for the TIP stopped flashing and the paddles work again. Doesn't appear to be marking it's territory, either. Still burning off the oil on the engine, so it does stink. But not leaking coolant anymore and that's a good thing.

He was kinda impressed that I changed the motor myself. I'm 66 year old guy. Spent lots of time on the deck of the carport on my back.

Around 0100hr finished a 30hr drive from SLC to BHM with my 11yo daughter as copilot. Mountains, deserts, rain, sleet, and snow, and top-down 70 degree sunny weather too.
Great experience, now back to work...

Full Day of PCA Fun

The day started with our monthly breakfast meeting. Then a drive out to the Palm Springs Air Museum for a special tour. The museum is devoted to WW2 and later planes. The docents are top-notched. They have a couple of military planes that you can get rides in. They will take you up in their P-51, for a 30 minute flight around the surrounding valley and local mountains, for $1,800.00. The couple who sponsored the event invited everybody back to their house (Palm Desert) for catered Italian. We had +/- 30 cars and over 40 people. Great mix of cars with several 718's on hand.
