Thanks, I tend to hang on to my cars, but 7-8 years is usually the max, this is the longest I've ever owned a car, but it isn't a daily driver.

And I drove the 55 miles to my intended gas station tonight. Towards the end of my ride I got down to 18 miles to empty and at the pump it was 16 miles to empty. It took almost 15.7 gallons to fill it up.

Took it out for a leisurely 160+ mile trip into the small towns and backroads, top down the whole day. Stumbled upon a small winery as well. Also passed 119,000 miles.

Nice pics. Have you considered having the hood repainted? Flaking clearcoat is the official state color here in Arizona.:ah:

Annual maintenance. Yesterday I drained the transmission fluid and today I will fill it with fresh fluid and then reassemble the braces that needed to be dismantled for access. But before that I'll inspect the sway bar bushings for wear.

I discovered that the battery maintainer was toast when the battery ran low. Fortunately I have another that I soldered the cigarette lighter plug to and it is working. Hopefully the battery didn't get damaged from getting run down.

Next project to tackle is cleaning the radiators and replacing the frunk latch. I'll also reroute the emergency cable to the tow ring location.

There’s no issues with the paint. It was all redone last year when the new hood was installed (repair from being backed into).

I took my slightly loved and gently broken in sport seats...

I pushed the car forward in my garage to make room for the snow blower and generator.
Put her up on jackstands and removed the wheels for the winter.

Ongoing work on the car to remove the engine and transmission. Jeez, there's a lot of stuff to take off or unhook! And then I'm gonna have to put it all back together. Figure I'll be working on this most of the winter.

While I've got it apart, the replacement engine is getting a water pump, a spin on oil filter conversion, an underdrive engine pulley, headers and dual exhaust, and the car itself is getting the cv joints cleaned and replacement boots Of course new RMS, new front crankseal, and a new seal where the torque converter goes into the trans.

It's an 01 base, I got it cheap but have been massaging it regularly with $100 bills.

I’ve read that you shouldn’t leave the suspension hanging over the winter. Could be wrong but just putting it out there.

Agreed. Last year I put the jacks under the suspension so it stayed compressed.
But next spring I hope to make some suspension changes so I don't care.

I had also heard that it's not a big deal to let it hang, as long as it's not outside.

Might be the clouds reflecting in that photo?
