What did you do with/to your Boxster today?

Put in a nice set of LEDs for the low beam last night. Definitely seems to throw more and still has good cutoff.

I successfully managed to break the triangular corner piece off my passenger side headlight. I had just finished detailing my front bumper cover, went to get up, and made the mistake of reaching out to support myself by putting my hand on the headlight. <> Oh well...

I should have some of those. The mount tabs may be broken, but I'm sure you could find a way to secure it (in the past, I have just used a soldering iron to flare out the alignment posts - solid as a rock).

I'll take a look tomorrow if you want one.

Thanks particlewave, but I think I'm just going to order a new one.

In the mean time I'll probably crazy glue the old one back together and tack it back in place with some black silicone adhesive. I like the idea of using a soldering iron to flare out the alignment posts. I may give that a try...

While cleaning the foam out of my vents today, I pulled this puppy out...



I'm used to pulling sticky black bits of foam out, so pulling out something like this was a bit of a surprise.

Anyone know where in the AC/Heater box this came from?

It's about 1/2" square and 5 inches long and had some adhesive on one side.

Is it just me or does that light image look like a Boxster? Although the clam shell is halfway up! (and I haven't had anything to drink.....yet!)

Ok, I was able to glue the 2 pieces back together with Loctite Ultragel Control - wow. that stuff works great on whatever type of plastic these are made of. Then I re-attached it to the headlight using some Permatex Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant. I'll wait a day for the silicone to cure, then reinstall the headlight tomorrow.

You really can't tell it was cracked unless you are right on top of it.

I think I might just hold off for a while on ordering a new one... I've been thinking of adding headlight washers - maybe I can use this as an excuse to do that...

I thought about using hot glue and I bet that would work great. But in the end I went with black silicone adhesive/sealant. I've used it before to repair all kinds of stuff like silicone watch bands, and it holds up well. Plus, it's easy to remove - just cut through it with a razor, then peel off the residue.

Our old headlights were completely done for. The seals melted, and went through bulbs like underwear, so we bought some new ones.

Nice, I replaced mine as well this week. Sold the old ones on eBay and recouped half the purchase price. The new ones look so sharp and crystal clear.



Unfortunately, stupid me wasn't paying attention in traffic and tapped the car in front of me. Zero damage to his vehicle, but his tow hitch put a nice gouge in my bumper cover. After considering buying and getting a used bumper cover painted, I have decided to open an insurance claim and get it addressed for the cost of my deductible. Hope to get a new cover.

I'm sorry about the bumper cover. That is definitely no bueno. On the plus side, the headlights look really good.

Thanks. Yeah, file this one under Stupid. But the 14 year old bumper had seen better days. New bumper or repair and re-spray - either way will be an improvement.

PS: Love your silver Box with the gray top. Don't see too many of those. I always appreciate the lesser seen color combos. Looks really cool.

Cleaned out the rads... my first time doing so in the 10k I've owned her. Pretty easy DIY, the YouTube video from the radiator specific thread was great.

Also fixed the rear speakers (loose connection) and added LED bulbs to frunk and trunk lights. Great way to spend an afternoon!
