The steering rack has had a slow leak since I got my 2000 and I finally swapped out the rack today. It was actually much easier than I expected. One of the old tie rods was obviously bent and a boot full of fluid. Planning to get the alignment done after the weekend. Until then, the steering wheel is straight and it shows a slight toe-in, so basically driveable.
