Nobody cars about our cars as much as us, when my FJ Cruiser was in a crash a couple years back, when the body shop called to tell me it was done, I showed up, and immediately I was dissatisfied, the panel gaps around the front bumper and related parts was not the same all around and it just looked "wrong". I went in, got the owner, told him the car still looked like it had been crashed and could he fix it. He waffled around, his guys wouldn't have left it that way, etc... then he came out and looked at it with me, sighed a big sigh.... and then he fixed it and it was ready the next day
I'm the same way. Right now my rear spoiler is installed a few mm to the left, I didn't get it back on right after I installed my Fister exhaust. It is bugging the heck out of me but I haven't had time to go in there and fix it... and it wouldn't even take that long, 10-15 minutes max...

+1 on the ashtray delete. Expensive plastic bit, but I hate ashtrays.

Was my wife's first request after we got the car. That ashtray, and the area under the console was nasty.
Repurposed the ashtray light to provide light to my cubby by drilling a hole in it and just poking the bulb through.

Ashtray delete is one of the best and easy upgrades. Even though the piece is expensive it's still worth it.

Took off the car cover after 6 months in hibernation, started the machine (fired right up). Disconnected the battery tender, took it to full operating temperature, reduced the tire pressure to proper levels and moved her from my storage garage into my daily use garage. Insurance goes back on April 1.
Whoooo Hooooo . . .Spring is here!!!

I wonder if I could get one of these LED's in blue or white, not a fan of installing mine when it's yellow. Anyone know the led "type/name"?

I dropped my RR tire off to look at a slow leak. Picking up an M14x1.5 tap after work and then I can put the wheel studs in the hub.
My brother's insurance for his Cayman goes into effect today, and my friend has his R8 on the road as of yesterday. We are getting close - If I can't get it on the road this weekend it will probably be mid week.

I had the ashtray delete for a few days, then sold it. I didn't like the aesthetics of the large hole and preferred the look of the console with the ashtray and closed lid.
The light is a bulb, but you can use any 3-5mm led with a 180 or 220ohm 1/4 watt resistor on either leg.
I used blue to match the rest of my interior backlights.

Finally some progress...
I got studs installed in the hubs all the way around. (Wife was kind enough to hold the brake for the fronts)
I tapped the cross threaded bolt hole, I think the tap took too much material - it was a bit sketchy getting the stud to 30ft-lbs
I also got my heater core out. Just in time. Did some cleaning in and around the cowl area.
I think my camera phone is getting worse at taking pics

I use the ashtray to store my garage door opener. It just fits inside. Nobody ever smoked in my car, so the ashtray is clean. With the lid closed, it's hidden until I need it.
The issue I'd have with the ashtray delete is it's an open tray, so anything in it would look like "clutter." And I'm way too OCD to allow for clutter in my Boxster. LOL!

De-snorkeled my new 2 me 2000 Boxster 2.7
Hey, what could be easier? One post said 10mins. Just pull off the grill, then pull out the snorkle. The two youtubes skip the process of pulling out the grill. Good choice. Really tough. Finally clawed mine out, after snapping one clip. Then 'Just pull out the snorkle'. Again, full on wrestling match. Finally gripped the tube with 2 long handled pliers and popped it out. Pretty scraped up knuckles for my trouble. Just drove the car out for lunch. I think I hear a difference but wouldn't swear to it.

Just got my car out of storage today. So it starts:
Ashtray delete:
Sun visors without airbag warnings:
Headlamps from a 996:
Upper storage bin:
Shift boot from Boxxster (but now I realize I need a new shift knob):
I was going to install my new stereo too, but realized I need an adapter from Bergvill.
Tomorrow...new roof assembly and a MAJOR cleaning.
