Repainted the mirrors. Come to find they don't match the wheels. So gotta have the wheels redone now.

Baby got new front shoes
Now I have to drive around on pins and needles until I wear them in a bit
I put 34000 mile on them plus what ever the PO did.
They were Sumitomo HTR Z III. That what I went with again
I know I went 5000 to far but I was able to do all of my driving last year in dry weather. I'm now thinking I may have gone 7-10000 to far. I replace the Rears about this time last year. I should have done all 4

Hey, I'm doing a IMS bearing upgrade from EPS with oil feed, rms , and a clutch. When I got my 986 it had no service records, so I want to get it up to par. I'm also doing a water pump and thermostat 160 degree, aos, coolant tank, oil change, spark plugs and spark plug tubes, and brakes. The car ran good when I got it, just wanted to know what I had.
My 986 is a 1997 with 57,000 miles 5 speed.

You'll practically have a new car when done, and that is a low mileage car to begin with. Peace of mind means a lot. I have the Pedro DOF on the engine he rebuilt in mine.

Thanks to forum member Deadeye for the parts!

I got to put on axles, my old ones where in pieces when I got them off. Obviously needed replacing when I got the car.
I also put on a regen valve, no more whistling at all the other cars now. 2 new drop links, no more clank clank when
going over a bump.

Last but not least and probably my arch enemy the fuel tank vent valve wasn't working because the magnet switch had
fallen out and after all the research and looking over that stupid piece numerous times I went out and spent the time to
take everything apart and look through it and found the magnet switch. All resolved and I can fill my tank up once again
like normal. No more extremely slow filling.

Removed the hardtop and put it in the basement. Had to charge the battery up a bit to put the soft top up.
Removed engine covers so I can swap out the intake some day.

Eibach sway bars and drop links

I ordered new Eibach sway bars and TRW drop links. They should arrive next week. I also aligned my new GT projectors and love how they light up the night. The headlights look incredible now. My next project will be to send my ECU to Fabspeed so they can flash it. That should conclude my mods for the short term. I just want to enjoy the ride now.

pretty much finished tearing the rear down as far as it will go!



time to start cleaning and painting some parts on the under side, find out where the exhaust blow is coming from and then start putting all the new parts in on the rebuild... then its on to the front!

Hey, I take that back! I removed one of the seals and the bearing had no grease just old motor oil. The oil that came out of the engine looked good, so the oil in the bearing was trapped in the bearing! 57,000 miles!

IPD plenum and TB

Woke up at 5:30 this morning because I couldn't sleep. I knew that my IPD plenum and 74mm TB were sitting in the garage begging to be put in today. Well, it only took 5 hours to get the old air box out, remove the stock intake plenum and TB, and install EVO cold air intake, new IPD plenum and 74mm TB. I didn't want to hassle with the stock air box, so I cut it out of the car. No issues putting the new pieces in place.

Let me just say that I had a huge smile on my face when I took it for a test drive. The sound of the car is incredible now and pulls harder; of course my butt dyne could be tainted by the fact that I just spent 5 hours trying not to screw anything up. The new air box, TB, and plenum combined with the Fabspeed headers and Maxflo exhaust is awesome. Can't wait to put the top down now.

Started getting the Boxster ready for spring after a thankfully mild winter - supposed to hit 60 degrees this week.

Changed oil myself for the first time (had been to service center for dealer over the last year since I bought it). Very easy.

Changed manual transmission fluid as I suspect it was never done, or not for a long time (I have a 2004 S with 139,000 miles on it now). Once I got car up o 4 jack stands, had to take off shield which was easier than it looked. Drained old fluid - no metal pieces or goop inside the drain hole or fill holes when I checked. Put in some nice fresh Swepco 201 using a hand pump.

Put everything back together, then took it for a quick test drive

Still want to change the spark plugs but ran into small snag - not having had to take rear tires off before I never noticed one wheel has a locking lug nut, and I don't have the key. Going to try and hunt one down.

Started the Boxster up for the first time since winter installed AUX cable and gave the car a wash. Does everyone change the oil after a winter sit if it had just been changed prior?
