I didn't like the small led replacement bulbs, so I used these (the 18 chip model) -
5X T10 18 24 36 48 Chip COB LED Car Interior Panel Light Lamp Bulb Festoon Dome | eBay
They get very hot and should be on a heat sink, but tere isn't room inside the dome light, so I decided to just run them at half power.
I removed the stock resistor, wired the two together in parallel and used a 75ohm, 2W resistor to run them at about 60% power.
Even at 60% power, they are plenty bright with a nice even white light distribution.
