I will change the headers and sports cats to replace the originals in roughly a week from now Monday - so I have not yet installed the extension. I do not want to take a chance to break the header bolts... I knocked off about 3 this afternoon and thought I'd be able to amuse myself for hours. However here I am with phase one complete and less drama than I expected. I only sheared two bolts out of 11. One had been broken before I got the car and may be the source of a small blow at low revs.

Wanted to drive the car some on the street so removed -Chamber from setup back to -1 front and Rear and did basic pipe alignment I use at the track if I'm changing anything. which is band a conduit to the rear tires. measure the pipe at the hub on the front wheels, balance with adjustable rear toe-link. measure distance from the face of the tire side to side front and rear of the front tires. then do the same for the face of the tire to the pipe. Verify chamber with a wheel jig and digital inclinometer. No Idea at this point if or when I'll be tracking the car all events are being canceled thru May.
As a side note I have scribe marks on my top plates, Shimmed control arms, and a notebook with measurements to help the process along. |
Got it out of winter storage this morning. Put the battery in, connected it, got in the drivers seat, inserted key, held my breath, twisted the key... and it started right up!
Now it's back home in the garage. When I take it out in a little while, I'll reduce the air pressure in the tires. Wish I could put the top down but today's weather is misty, dark, windy but having it home is like a ray of warm sunlight. Larry (the bald eagle) |

I’ve been taking my car apart bit by bit recently. Just waiting on my engine support bar to come in so I can begin replacing the IMS bearing.
While I’m waiting I decided to tackle my leaking washer fluid reservoir issue. I discovered it was the headlight pump. It’s all cracked and rusted real bad. Ok I’ll just order a replacement and call it good. I hop on my computer and find the headlight pump costs 5x more than the windshield pump. Damn. Gonna have to bite this bullet. Very good video!! I've done this on a couple of 986's and my 996. I used duct tape but your tape looks like a much better choice.

I cleaned out the radiators yesterday. This pile of dirt came from the left side radiators. The right and center radiators were in a similar condition. |
