Thank you!
Here's the part numbers I used to hunt the connectors:
Bosch 1-928-403-453
Bosch 1-928-403-736

Each cable needs one of each plug.

I purchased these from UK, since I'm in Finland (no customs etc issues) - at least untill the brexit kicks in
Here's the link where I ordered those both connectors:
https://www.auto-click.co.uk/1928403453
Same can be purchased from all continents.

On top of the cables I have the white 8mm heat resistant sleeve. This size fits real well ove the wires.

Hopefully this is helpful :)

Pilot4fn, What gauge wire did you use for these extension cables?

maytag, the cable I used is 18 gauge or 1mm size automotive wire (RS Pro 1225866 - 1mm)
I will change the headers and sports cats to replace the originals in roughly a week from now Monday - so I have not yet installed the extension. I do not want to take a chance to break the header bolts... Local Indy will change the header bolts, headers and pipes all the way to the moffler
I'll report how this all works after the change is done.

I knocked off about 3 this afternoon and thought I'd be able to amuse myself for hours. However here I am with phase one complete and less drama than I expected. I only sheared two bolts out of 11. One had been broken before I got the car and may be the source of a small blow at low revs.

So coffee now while I decide if I go home and wallow in my glorious victory or get the drill out and start phase 2.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bf0f97b9bf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7013162b52.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4a80348f4d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...319ee294ed.jpg

The only thing I could do was wash my car. :D

Wanted to drive the car some on the street so removed -Chamber from setup back to -1 front and Rear and did basic pipe alignment I use at the track if I'm changing anything. which is band a conduit to the rear tires. measure the pipe at the hub on the front wheels, balance with adjustable rear toe-link. measure distance from the face of the tire side to side front and rear of the front tires. then do the same for the face of the tire to the pipe. Verify chamber with a wheel jig and digital inclinometer. No Idea at this point if or when I'll be tracking the car all events are being canceled thru May.

As a side note I have scribe marks on my top plates, Shimmed control arms, and a notebook with measurements to help the process along.

Got it out of winter storage this morning. Put the battery in, connected it, got in the drivers seat, inserted key, held my breath, twisted the key... and it started right up!

Now it's back home in the garage. When I take it out in a little while, I'll reduce the air pressure in the tires. Wish I could put the top down but today's weather is misty, dark, windy but having it home is like a ray of warm sunlight.

Cried a little when I took the engine back out. But its not gonna rebuild itself :D

I’ve been taking my car apart bit by bit recently. Just waiting on my engine support bar to come in so I can begin replacing the IMS bearing.

While I’m waiting I decided to tackle my leaking washer fluid reservoir issue. I discovered it was the headlight pump. It’s all cracked and rusted real bad. Ok I’ll just order a replacement and call it good. I hop on my computer and find the headlight pump costs 5x more than the windshield pump. Damn. Gonna have to bite this bullet. My OCD needs my low reservoir fluid dash light off.

Had a busy weekend in quarantine...

Ever have foam bits blow out of your vents? Heat not working like it used to? I think a lot of 986 owners will like this one 😁

As always, great video. As far as I could find, the 1st one clearly showing this repair. Thanks for posting.

I was considering the repair where you access the rear flap from the heater core access (under the wipers) and by cutting off the "top cap" to pull the flap right out.

This video does look like a much easier solution.

Thank you! Yes it wasn’t bad at all. Hour tops.

Very good video!! I've done this on a couple of 986's and my 996. I used duct tape but your tape looks like a much better choice.

Thanks! Yeah someone in the forum I found the instructions on suggested it. It’s great.

Great vid! I've seen a write-up about it but I've been putting off doing it because seemed too complicated. I also love the technique to apply the tape. I'll definitely try it in the near future.

Thanks for taking the time to create the video for all of us!

Prepped for drilling. How clean should the face of the block be? This all feels smooth now but should it all be sparkly clean??https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...03061302d0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f331920d3c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...031a395c3f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f9291eb3e5.jpg

I cleaned out the radiators yesterday. This pile of dirt came from the left side radiators. The right and center radiators were in a similar condition.

Traco, you are facing a hell of a job..

Out of curiosity, are you going to start with a very small drill bit and then a larger one, combined with heat?

Good luck with the project
