Car Running Perfect
So what is going to break/fail/wear out? Want to prepare myself. 1998 Box, 78K. Thank you for your predictions. Shifter boot restoration kit to winner. 
PS Has new clutch, fly wheel, MAF cleaned, new tires, new radio/CD player and had 100K tune up done at 75K when car was apart to do the clutch work.

Have you replaced the gas cap? Check the condition of the gas cap seal, look for cracks on the outer edge of the seal like in this photo.
This is a bad cap.

Make sure the flux capacitor is in good shape, as you wouldn't way to get stuck when you're far from home.

seems that from what i;ve read this car would be prime candidate for ims when the clutch was done. Did I miss something?

Totalling up what's just been mentioned and I'm at $2000 or more including labor.
You're quickly learning the lesson I learned in 2004... buying an old boxster with high mileage for cheap is gonna cost you more than any car you've ever owned before.

Car has 78K, extensive records, was always garaged, and does not seemed to have been flogged. The clutch was going (original) but everything else I did because it seemed like the right time to do it as long as the thing was in the air and apart. I traded a 2001 Corvette for the Box. Wanted to drive a Rolex, not a Timex. The vette was like a T-34 tank compared to the Box.

- Wheel bearing (I vote driver's rear, but what do I know?)
- rear main seal (don't panic, it's just a drip)
- cracked plastic rear window
- you're guaranteed to break every plastic bit you touch in the cabin. The key is touch nothing...
- And, hopefully, if you drive your car properly, your tires...
