If you can, there should be a period in your life when you own a 911. It's the iconic model that established the company, and it continues to evolve and be improved with each iteration.
Is it better than a Boxster? It doesn't matter, but it's accurate to say that it's different than a Boxster. For that reason, taste...savor.....and enjoy a 911. What it has to offer will feed your soul.

IMO If it doesn't matter than you're buying the car for the wrong reason.

For me, the experience of owning different kinds of cars has been one of life's pleasures. That, in itself, has been reason enough for me to own over 40 different cars. It has never been a "contest" between marques or models, rather, it's been enjoying how each car company interprets the automobile. Some do it better than others, obviously, but I've always found it fun to try something different.

I'm with you on the variety, in my life I've driven so many cars, trade ins made it so I could sample. I have always gone forward in handling with each acquisition, it's what I love most about all Boxsters. I do understand what you mean though, I just drove my 124 spyder and even though it feels so foreign to modern machines it's still a connection back to days I remember with joy.
