NHL Jack Pad

Several threads over the past few weeks have had requests/comments about floor jacks and pads. Here's mine. Basic floor jack with a great jack pad courtesy of the NHL (look close for the logo). The hockey puck is tough enough to handle the weight but gentle too...

You could get one of the fancy ones with the special oval shape to fit the jacking points on the Boxster, but you still have the risk of it scratching, as they are metal. This solution on the other hand is cheap, brings no risk of scratching, and fits any car.

Be sure to bring the puck when selecting a jack, I did it the other way around and you can see the "cradle" is too small for the puck to fit inside. Plenty of jacks have a larger cradle, which the puck could fit inside - instead of on top of it.

How do you get that under the car?

BTW, what's all the issues with simply using a floor jacks metal cup? My simple 3 ton Chradtsman cups the jack point quite nicely and since it's on a swivel there's no significant "scratching" issues. And what's the big deal if a little of the underside of the car, a jack point at that, gets a few scratches on it? Besides, it's coated with thick rubberized paint anyway.
