Climate control unit placement

I have seen a few pics where the climate control unit is in the "bottom" slot, under the stereo head unit. Mine is above the stereo, right underneath the oh so handy cup holder that swings out. OF course I do get to hold my can of Pepsi, but it makes it a little more difficult to change the settings.

just wondering how hard it would be to change the placement of the unit, and swap out the "storage bins" that are in the bottom now?

i believe other than getting the correct surround for it ( Lower AC Surround Trim ) it's a pretty simple matter. (the link is for a 996, but i believe it should fit. other's might have more insight.

mine is on the bottom, and that's how i purchased it.
