2002 Boxster: Car Alarm Keeps Going Off for No Reason?

So we just moved to a new house and I parked my boxster outside. Twice today, six hours apart, the car alarm just randomly goes off.

This happened when I parked it outside my friend's place before a couple of times.

What is causing this, and how can I temporarily disable the alarm?

I'm getting so annoyed with this car that I'm probably getting rid of it.

Thanks

Need to read the alarms codes to determine the issue.

You can unplug the alarm horn (its in the front trunk near the battery) but the lights will still blink.

My issue was the radio thought it was being stolen....

There's a wire that grounds to the radio's frame when the radio is removed. I'm guessing yours is loose and occasionally finds a path to ground that activates the alarm.

In my case the boot was pushed back and it occasionally shorted.
