Lots Of Miles Lately

Seriously, I think I put more miles on my Boxster in a month than most P-car owners do all year long!

For the past 27 days, I've driven 4,368 miles.

Sheesh, in the last 51 weeks, I've driven 14,066 miles.

Consider my mileage doesn't come from commuting, as my commute is only 1.3 miles each way. And a lot of the times, I walk or bike. The majority of my miles is either joy-riding or roadtrips. Or, running errands around town. I've never had so much fun running errands until I bought a Boxster!

How about the rest of you? What do you usually use your Boxsters for and about how many miles do you see in a year?

It sits on a lift as she gets implants! I have only a been able to do about 3000 miles in 9 months. That will change here shortly. Nice to see someone getting some serious miles in the Boxster! Post some pics of your journeys if you have any...love travel pics.

It varies each month but have covered 9k miles since I got it in the spring of 2011. I drive it year round and find an excuse to take the long way round.
How can u let a great car like this sit in the garage unused?

1.5 years of ownership 4000 miles + - = SAD I should and will sell it. Fetching the Sunday paper is just wrong for this car.

garage queen

I bought mine three years ago at 55,000 miles and it now has 60,000.I live in Canada and spend the winter in Florida. My car is stored for the summer and driven in the winter only.I never put the top up.Always garaged.Never rain driven.Never washed.Only dusted. Is that a garage queen?I will try to drive it more as I love the feel at the wheel.

I have been blessed with my 986 for a little over 2 years and after 15K spirited miles, it is now up to 72K. I have spent and additional $8K on repairs, preventative maintenance, and mods since buying her, but she is well worth it, as she is by far the most enjoyable car that I have ever owned.

purchased 3 years ago with 65k miles. not a daily driver or winter car. i work at home so no trips to the office. now about to hit 103k miles. driven from DC to Texas 6 times (round trip), a trip to ontario. couple of trips to the TotD, Porschepalooza, Colorado, Illinois, several trips to Ohio. now i just need to get to the west coast!

**edit**
i thought i'd try one of those "where have you been" maps that are all the rage with the facebook crowd. interesting to see where the boxster has been and where i still need to visit all in one map. if the state is colored, the car crossed the border.

I have put on about 1,000 miles per month for 18 months (on average). I have a very short commute so almost all of my miles are at or to/from racetracks in support of the 42 track days that I have accumulated thus far.

Every day I am livin' the dream.

Mine is a 2007 S Daily Driver. Had it since it was new. I put on approx. 13K-14K per year.

I learned a while back that these cars depreciate in value, tremendously, whether it sits in the garage or whether you drive it. I might as well enjoy it and get some use out of it before the value becomes $0.

Purchased my '01 S on Labor Day 2011 with 29K on the odometer and 1K on the engine (replaced in 2004). After almost a year, I now have 38K on the odometer driving on the weekends only. As far as maintenance, changed the oil twice myself and dealer replaced a bad wheel bearing.

8K in 4 months, including a week long, 2500 mile road trip, a long weekend of ~1000 miles, and several Saturday drives of 400 miles or so. Top down 90% of the time.

I can't see letting a car like this just sit.

I drive about 500 miles per month, or 6000 miles per year. I drive it everyday from/to work and to visit friends or shop on weekends.
