Front hood question

Since I had the car, the front hood when closed has to be push down in the lower front until it clicks.
If I don't push it down until it clicks, the hood alarm light is on..

I'm curious if this is normal, or is something miss-aligned?
feedback appreciated..
Thanks
T

It's the same on mine. It is like that for safety reasons so that if you accidentally leave it unlatched, it will not open.

Same... The other day I actually dropped the hood a fair bit, took some pictures...then realized I hadn't closed the hood all the way and had to press down to truly close it...heh.

I've only once been able to drop the frunk lid with enough force to actually close is, and that was this past weekend. Otherwise, I always have to press on the lid to get it to actually click shut. And unlike what you may see written somewhere in the manual (I think), don't push on the emblem to do it, you'll just bend your lid.

And do not push down on the emblem. Did that a number of times and then while washing the car one day, I watched it just slide down the front of the car. Pretty amusing now. Not so much back then.

If it is related to the horn of the car, then the reason why I don't hear it is because I pulled the fuse out for my horn.

The horn contacts are broken so my car beeps everytime I hit the brakes or accelerate. I had to pull that fuse out. People thought of me as a jerk. I was giving Porsche owners a bad reputation. haha. Porsche wants $500 to fix.

Would you like your lecture about the dangers of driving without a functioning horn now?

I always push on the emblem, hasn't been a problem so far. Avoids getting handprints on the feshly waxed paint! It is a fairly gentle push.

It's only a $86.75 fix and takes maybe 30mins, very simple DIY.
