Name that noise!

986 Boxster engine noise - YouTube

It's a sort of brief 'pfffty' air leaky sort of noise that happens just as you depress the throttle.

I also had some problem with dodgy idling stalling a couple of days ago, but that appears to have cleared up.

Car seems to run normally otherwise.

Sound was recorded from the side air intake ahead of the right hand rear wheel arch.

Leaking induction or exhaust? Loose plug? Completely normal? Am going mad? What do we think?

Thanks!

Party pooper...what kind of straight man are you??

Anyway, after a quick listen to the vid I'm pretty sure mine makes the same sound. And I'm reasonably certain it's a normal intake sound.

OK, it was the weird idling that got me looking for any new noises. Keep calm. Carry on. Etc!

Mine has the same sound... either we have the same problem or you suffer from Porsche Munchausen.

Just keep a special savings a/c marked Porsche for when it explodes!?!?! Suggested contribution about $200/month or 100 pounds a month. And no you cannot afford to retire early with your supporting a Porsche in the family and by that time u can't hear anything anyway. Problem solved!
