I'm partial to my slate grey metallic paint. I haven't seen any other Boxsters in that color, only 911s. Anyone else have slate grey metallic out there??

Personally, I think the definitive colour combo for the 986 is an early 2.5 in silver with Boxster Red leather.

Guards does look great, too, which is why I chose it.

I think the 986 looks great in a lot of colours, but it does need the amber indicators to work. The only colour I don't like on the 986 is dark blue, it's just so dowdy.

Another colour I like is the relatively rare Meridian Silver.

Immediately after a wash and wax: black.
The other 99.999% of the time: speed yellow.

Speed yellow... Or what about limited edition orange?
Probably neither are the most sought after...most Porsches I see out here are some sort of silver...

Sorry! Just my opinion.

Of course, Glacier White IS the best, though. Just ask me. I used the scientific method to deduce this.
I mean, just check out the sexy avatar...undeniable.

Boxsters look sleek in black especially when cleaned and polished. I thought I was done with black cars but was seduced by a triple black. Is lingere black the factory color?

Yes, this is exactly correct. The fact that it's the combination I have is coincidental.

The best colour for a convertible is yellow. No arguments broached on this subject shall be tolerated. However, if you're asking what the most popular colour is, it's quite obviously silver. Just look at the classifieds.

And if you look at 911s, it's almost impossible to get a secondhand 997 in any colour except black, grey or silver, at least in Australia. Rich people are pretty boring.

Zanzibar Red has to be one of the rare ones. Very nice shade of red-orange.

I specifically cot the 02 boxster s I have because it was speed yellow. Every car I looked at had flawed paint, so I figured ..... Get an original speed yellow and paint it again to look new!

2 weeks it will be done and I will post pics.

I am doing all the work. I got to know the guy down the road with a paint shop and I learned a lot. He let me use his spray booth. This weekend, he is giving me a key to his shop so I can come and go as I please. Very cool!

I am also painting the center console as well.

growing up i always loved the looks of Canary Yellow corvette stingrays and yellow 911s.

so when it came to my Boxster it had to be Speed Yellow.

That Zanzibar color is cool, but not my taste.

I think im going to go with Speed Yellow if I pull the trigger. Nothing else appeals to me enough to spend 100+ hours painting my car.

The thing I like most about this, Is there is no engine bay to paint!
