A couple "noob" Boxster questions from a new owner

Hey guys, i just ipcked up an 02 boxster (2.7L) last night and I had a few basic questions about the car.

Do all boxsters have the electronic rear spoiler? Mine doesnt seem to have a button inside the car for it.

Secondly is I think Ive decided to go with 0w-40 Mobil 1 oil, but I cant find any reccomendations on the oil filter. Should I get one right from porsche or are there some aftermarket alternatives?

aaannndddd lastly, right at about ~80 mph in 5th gear there is this hollow intake air sound that get quite loud while cruising steady on the highway. Is this normal?

Hi!

There should be a switch next to your left foot in the panel to raise and lower the rear spoiler. Did you get the owners manual with the car?

Oilfilter, at Autozone they carry filters for your car, don't remember the brand right now but they are made in Germany.

Have fun!

Later,
Andy

You can get a Purolator L25316 oil filter at Advance Auto Parts or any parts store. They are made in Germany and it comes with a gasket.

Can you be more specific? All I tend to hear at 80mph is air, road, and tire noise!

Also, be sure to replace the metal washer that seals the oil drain plug when you change the oil (oil sump drain plug seal). Its cheap insurance against an oil leak. If your local auto parts doesn't carry it, try ordering from the Forum site owner, Pelican Parts...
