Talking Which Philips LED Day (drl) Lights for my 986 ?

I'm new to the forum but have owned a 1999 986 boxster for 3 years. I'm in need of some knowledge / help 😫 on my latest project!! Want to source, buy and fit LED day (drl) lights but really not sure what to go for.. The philips day light 8 or 9 DRL seem good OEQ but I'm also torn between the philips luxeon day light guide LED's?! I'm not even sure of the difference as there are no reviews ! I just know the luxeon day light guides ate the most expensive 😬 If you have any knowledge or experience of any of these products or just general advice to pass on, it WILL be much appreciated!! Ta!!!

I was looking at those as well. Instead I did the fog light relay hack and use my fog lights as DRLs. I did change the H7s to LEDs

Do a search and you should fine some more info on both the Phillips LEDs and the hack

You need to find something that will fit the air intake. There are a number of posts on here and boxa.net on DRL installations.

This is what I fitted to mine - a single row of LEDs that were the brightest I could find.

I wired mine to the parking light and I removed the parking light bulbs (last picture was before the bulbs removal)... http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/46857-%40%40-cob-led-drl-%40%40.html

I have the Philips 4 LED strip...small, bright, fairly inconspicuous when not lit. I have the newer 986.2 bumper so not sure how they would look/fit on the 986.1

I installed the relay that turns them off when the headlights go on. I also added a dash switch to turn them completely off.

Cheers for all the help & responses so far.. I'm slowly but surely making my mind up ! Chipmunk...which lights are those? Look great, exactley what I'm looking for! Look similar to the philips day light guides which are a single row of LED's? Cheers 👍

How did you run the wires from the lights into the front trunk? I have a 2003 and do not want to remove the bumper as I am sure 18 years has corroded most of the fasteners. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also how did you attach the lights to the vent?
