Mobil 1 Oil

Anyone has experience with purchasing Mobil 1 from dealer?

I went to get a quote for 10 liters of oil and porsche quoted me almost $30/litre. Yes $30 per litre. It would come to just over $280 for 10 litres of oil.

Why are you trying to do that? Can't you just use the internet and shipping?

The problem is that here in Malta, not alot of brands are available, and everyone seems to stock just castrol. I tried buying online, however none seem to be able to ship engine oil as it is forbidden to post items such as oils.

If I understand you correctly you are forbidden to buy online because there is no suitable legal shipping options for internet purchases? If that's right, I'd just use the Castrol unless you see some impending problem from doing so which seems unlikely.

+1. Not to start an oil war but Mobil 1 is not magic juice. A suitable Castrol Syntec or Edge
will work just fine.
My only other opinion is to stay away from the 0w stuff....Given your climate, a 10w-40 will work great.

Agree, Castol Syntec or Edge would be a fine substitute.

If you can find Castrol Pro Edge in either 10W-40 or 5W-40, buy and use it. It is superior oil the any Mobil 1 you can buy. It should be available there.

Castrol meets Porsche standards, so it is no problem. Like said, 10w-40 is recommended, as I live in a very warm climate and rare see freezing temperatures.
