07 "s"

I just purchased an 07 Boxster S last week with 24,000miles. Beautiful car!
I thought I would join some forums to rub elbows with fellow owners when I start reading about engine failures- AND MANY OF THEM! Ok... Is the 3.4 07 and later S engines any more durable, or should I bail out early??? I can't afford a replacement.
Any suggestions????
John

Drive your car the way it was meant to be driven, change your oil every 5k miles and sleep well. People rarely come to a forum to tell us their car runs great. They come here to ask questions and solve problems.

I understand your paranoia about engine failure. I have a 2001 Boxster base and had the IMS Guardian installed to give early warning of an Ims failure. Ln engineering makes it and I am not sure but now I think they make the Guardian for later Boxsters. I have had my car for almost a year as daily driver rain or snow. No problems after having done 5k miles in the last year . Car now has 40k miles. Yes that is so true that owners come on here mostly to get their problems solved. Yes regular oil changes are a must. I cant afford a new engine either but I do whatever it takes to prevent engine failure. So far so good.

If you're that worried, I recommend that you get the Guardian-B . If your vehicle starts exhibiting signs of IMS failure, it goes a step further and prevents you from driving it . I have it !

It must be difficult to tie the ropes in that position with that suit on.

I'm not sure...but I think it just may have something to do with those traces of gunpowder.

JD has some, shall we say "proclivities" - it is best to not question...

Impulsive buyers are interesting.

Serious question, did you buy a house during the years 2003-2008?

If you can't afford the engine I would consider selling your car and looking into a Certified Pre Owned Porsche. Don't bother with third party warranties. The fine print in those rarely put you in a safe position.

My wife had one of those suits. When I cut a good one she would get it...also makes for great sex fun. Go JD.

Oh, just drive and don't worry...my 2000S has 70K and has never had any work done on the engine...except for oil changes, and a new set of plugs.
