What is it ?
Is it legal in the USA ?

Try to find a local car to see this for yourself before you do anything. The ones that I have seen look great in photos and not so great in person. You'll have to be your own judge.

I'm not a judge nor an Internet police officer but I'd say 100% illegal.

Also, careful with this Terry. There are days that I could get out of my car with my torque wrench in my hand and scare the hell out of those in the opposite direction, who, couldn't care less about their indicator before shooting left and unannounced. I'm a very cool guy, normally, but very few things in life gets my blood cooking for some reason, and this is one of those reason. I wouldn't be surprised that other drivers in your area have the same blood especially if they are driving with an occupied baby seat.

Just make sure that your indicators are meeting DOT, or meet whatever safety standard in the area that you drive and you'll still look cool with only a Boxster I'm sure

It is just regular tint for tail lights and headlights found on ebay for $10. Not the same tint used on windows.

The person just cut it out himself with a razor after sticking it on.

I did the same with my Tail lights. It takes patience to apply the tint and get it smooth. I did it by cleaning the light. Spray a soapy water mixture onto the light. Apply the tint while the light is dripping wet with soap and water. Then use a heat gun or hair dryer to make the tint stick and shrink. Use a credit card and gently push the creases and air bubbles out while you are doing this. Apply the tint from the middle or flattest part of the light and continue going around from there. Then use a razor to cut out the tint you don't want.

It is legal the way it is in that picture because the signal lights still "shine" orange and the headlight is not blocked by tint. Just the fog lights. Fog lights and signals can be tinted any color as long as the color of the light when it is ON stays the same.

Thanks for all the replies... I don't have patience and am unable to stick anything on straight... so I won't be doing this but it is interesting to hear how it is done.
