Haha! Classic. I'm guilty of this too. Spending an hour and a half trying to get something 'to work' vs getting the proper tool to do the job.
I don't know if it's based on laziness or stubborness. Either way, I've been guilty of this a time or two.
It's like when you spend time tossing your living room, looking for your remote, when all you had to do was walk over to the TV and change the channel.
