Scratch in windshield

If this has been coverd in a previous thread, I apologize.

Any thoughts on removing a scratch I got on my windshield from the wiper blade? Apparently, I had something abrasive under my wiper blade in a recent rain. You can't feel the scratch, but you can certainly see it.

Someone told me about using a paste and then using a drill motor to buff it out, but they said to be careful because you could damage the glass. That last comment stopped me in my tracks. Is there any other methods you guys can think of, or have had success with?

Thanks

The scratch sounds light enough that you can get it out with a glass polish. For example:

glass polish

I would try to remove the scratch using some elbow grease first just to be safe. Using a drill and not an orbital polisher seems a little risky.
