Don't think a driveshaft is the same thing as an intermediate shaft in the motor. Guy was lucky he didn't lock up the wheels and crash when the driveshaft went.

Sometimes there is a reason for speed limiters on cars aside from the automaker attempting to neuter your fast-driving antics experience...

Oh, well, it was only a v6...

V-6 Mustangs used to have a huge "flywheel looking" balance weight attached to the driveshaft. When I worked at Saleen we would remove the weight when the 351 V-8 was installed. I wonder if the new V-6 Mustang still has that extra weight on the drive shaft?

My understanding is that Ford was using a very lightweight prop shaft to increase fuel economy and that there is a different propshaft for the Mustang GT models. So if you are going to defeat the speed limiter on your 'stang, get a real propshaft first.

Did anyone else watch the video and have the same thought as me........" A kid idiotically takes a handheld video of himself knocking down 140 mph on a public road, experiences a near catastrophic failure after removing the 118 mph speed limiter, then posts the video up on youtube.........Darwin missed"?

noticed the list of things he says "broke" as a result - i didn't see where he mentioned the pee-stained seats that would need to be replaced.

Wish he kept the camera rolling......except he probably would have wrecked the car. From the twitch of the camera, it looked like it scared him.
