The base model is very inexpensive, very safe (10 air bags), comes with a manual 6 speed and it's very solid. Comes with power windows, locks, XM and Onstar. Not especially fast obviously. I've acutally seen ads in the Little Rock paper for brand new Cruze LS (base model) at $14,995. I have one and find it pleasant to drive. The base model doesn't have cruise control but it's easy to add a $160 aftermarket unit that integrates with the electronics.
