Durametric on other cars

Can a Durametric be used on none Porsche's just for it's standard OBCII function?

Regards. PK

No, it only works with Porsche because it was modeled after the factory PIWIS tool. Another company, AutoEnginuity makes a generic OBD2 scanner which you can buy add-on modules for particular models (Porsche being one of them), but this would cost you more than the enthusiast Durametric version. Durametric also makes the BMW-equivalent tool for BMW owners/pro techs.

I understand your concern, I have two other vehicles and they're both non-Porsche and I really don't feel like spending around $200 for a laptop application.

Regards,

Your right, I don't feel like dumping more money into another reader. all I want to do is dump some likely generic codes. Porshe puts those out to. I just thought my durametric could do that and if the car threw out some proprietary code, it would just give me obvious gibberish.

I wonder if I screw up the durameric if I tried.

Thanks PK
