What should I pay for '03 Base Certified? Need input ASAP!

I found an individual who has a Boxster '03 w/ Power Seat and Tiptronic.
The car has 13,500 and went into service a little over 2 years ago. This individual bought as certified and so will carry over to me.

He wants $33,000 and acknowledges the car needs new tires and the 15K service.

Thanks

Anthony

Check the on-line used car value sites. kelleybluebook.com is one. They say about $32-33k for a private pty sale for that car.
It would be worth the $20 it costs to run a carfax if you are serious about the car.
Some folks say carfaxs don't tell you anything you can depend on, but I have found them to be useful

Talking

Check Auto Trader and kbb.com for comps on this car. If it were me, I would run a car fax, and get a PPI from a Porsche dealer.

Also make a running list of recon costs, ie, the cost of tires mounted and balanced, ding repair, scratch repair, cost of 15K service, etc, etc. This will be easier to do once you get the PPI report.

This will give you your true "get in the game" price.

Then you can decide if this car is a good deal.

Also MAKE SURE you verify the extended warranty with a Porsche dealer. DO NOT take the seller's work for it. That warranty is most valuable.

Good luck!
