warning beep when accelerating
I have a 99 Boxster with 44M miles purchased last year. Everything works great. But just last week when cruising at highway speed, it would beep 2 times (same beep as seatbelt warning) for no apparent reason, no warning lights would show. I noticed after an attempt to get it to do it again, everytime I accelerated alittle harder than normal it would beep again, I could get it to do it everytime. I haven't noticed anything else dffferent, everything still runs fine no warning lights, no other apparent causes. Anyone got any ideas?

have you ever replaced your ignition switch?
(i think you mean 44,000 miles, not 44,000,000 miles...) |
M is roman numeral for 1,000 not million.

If that's the case it chimes, not when you accelerate, but rather when you pass the set speed. Happy Boxstering, Pedro |
'99s had a speed chime? I did not know that as I never found it in my '99 even though it had cruise and OBC enabled. Now my 997 does have it and I always have to remember to de-activate it when the Mrs. gets in... otherwise I have 2 speed warnings constantly going off :D ;) :p

You can set the speed to alarm at whatever speed you want or turn it off in the on board computer

I had my '98 for a month before I figured out the damn thing would chime every time I went over 79 mph. As has been said, you can set it for any speed you want, or turn it off.
