Here's another hint... It's from my good friends at Suncoast :)

That is a big box. I'll bet it cost plenty with PORSCHE printed on it. So...what's in the box that you are going to install on your Box ?

I can't take it! Just tell us already!!

Aerokit. Front spoiler. Speedster humps. Or similar.

Appleguy 08-09-2011 09:05 PM

Thstone is correct. It's my Aero Kit II

I ordered it over a month ago as it had to be shipped from The factory in Germany. I'll most likely save it for my winter project.

Congrats! But I thought you didn't have winter in Cali.

manolo 08-10-2011 08:01 AM

Damn, I was way off. I was going to say "13 inch rear wheels".

Oh we do have winters here in Northern California...

We usually get pummeled with 3 or 4 weeks of light rain and maybe temps in the low 40 F. Its enough to make us have to cover the swimming pool and put on long pants and maybe a hoodie! (sarcasm ;) )

Seriously... this car is going to be a gift to my son when he turns 16 so we are just tinkering with it. I have been driving it every now and then for the summer, but we'll park it come fall/winter and just wrench on it.

Cheers!

Mark

Hah! Ok, glad I got it right.

Be sure to post up some photos: a few before, many while in-work, and some after pics.

Everyone here loves a good project thread!

A little update... The Aero Kit is still in the corner of the garage, however, I did pick up my rear diffuser at the paint shop. They did a pretty good job on them. I'm not sure when I'll get around to installing them as the kids are going back to school soon and our free time is booked!

They look good, Mark! I'm looking forward to seeing all of the new pieces on the car.

It looks like you are doing a white version of my car, but I did it over a few years. I can't wait to see it done,,, I am sure it will look great!
I bought those rear diffusers about 3 years go and then found the Aero Kit 2 side skirts 2 years ago. This year I found the front bumper to match.
Here is a preview for you:

WOOT! Its my painted bumperettes from Bumperplugs.com

Color match looks pretty darn good!

Hopefully I'll get some free time this weekend to start installing this stuff!!

Cheers

you have to install the bumperettes right away. it makes a huge difference in the look of the car...

Appleguy 08-20-2011 07:23 PM

I installed both bumperettes and the diffuser today.

Bumperettes from Bumperplugs.com: A+
Perfect color match and they look great.

Diffusers from ebay: D-
After going through the whole process of removing my bumper and installing the diffusers, I ran into a couple of issues.
1. the provided hardware was too short.
2. once I got everything tightened up, the inserts in the fiberglass pulled out.
3. I'm not too happy with the overall look of them as they look like they are added onto the car.
Needless to say, I'm not too thrilled with them and I removed them.

Rear end looks SO clean with painted bumper plugs.

Lobo1186 08-21-2011 04:48 AM

Is there a difference between the aero kit II boxster front bumper and a 996 gt3 mk1 front bumper?
