You're correct. Thanks for reminding me. I guess I'll have to change the challenge now.

I rigged up a small camera in the windshield. It is no GoPro camera, but it does shoot video from HD all the way to VGA. Here is the link to the video I shot with it today. In case you want to know, it is a Panasonic DMC-FP1. The video was shot in VGA resolution to keep the file size small, so it is not high resolution. The first scenes were shot with a Sony Digital8 camcorder in 16:9 mode.

@ Spinnaker, Nice video. Your interior looks like it has no dust whatsoever.

When you say stealership, do you mean dealership?
Urban Dictionary says a stealership is a dealership that charges lots of money. In that case, I have tons of pictures since I worked at many dealerships/stealerships.

Boxster at a stealership:

Here is one at a Mazda dealership.

Ok, you wise guys with the loophole antics, calm that down, it's bad enough that I have to iron out the scores from 13 pages of pictures. ...and no one wants to see repeats, gents. ;)

ProjectM96, I think we're going to need a picture that has some sort of actual sign(s) that show that you are indeed at a dealership. It's not that I don't believe that you are where you say you are, but if you're in a Porsche dealer lot or there's a sign behind your car that reads "Moe's Chop n' Shop", or sales stickers and writings on the windows of cars for sale, stuff like that, then there's no disputing that you are where you claim to be. If you have one ready or can go and take one, go ahead and edit your post with the appropriate picture, and the point is yours and your challenge will stand (because I've got one ready to meet your challenge). ;)

I did say a "Porsche" (st)dealership specifically.
Also, there has been a conspicuous lack of pictures from the originator of this thread.:(

BTW Overdrive, how did the clamshell turn out?
And my picture isn't a repeat, it is one of the reject shots from that location so it is a different picture.:D

ProjectM96 10-20-2011 02:11 PM

Done. Added another dealership picture. These pics should be obvious without a sign because of the ways the cars are parked.

Spinnaker, you're right, I missed the fact that you specifically asked for a Porsche dealership when I was addressing PorjectM96's pictures. Let's make sure we read before we jump in with pictures, folks.

ProjectM96, if you have one nearby, go find the Porsche dealer and snap a pic so we can keep going.

As for a lack of pics from yours truly, well, I've made a bit of an effort to allow others to participate in this more than myself. Since I'm sort of in an overseeing role I don't feel as right about getting in there on some things. For Project's challenege I was actually going to take a hat with my school's name and put it on the hood or roof and take a pic, but HighLow beat me to it. (BTW, can you all see his picture or is it Red-X'd for others, too? I'm at work so I think that's why I can't see it)

As for the clamshell (and not to threadjack myself), haven't had time to figure out what's up with the top. I know I broke something, hopefully just those plastic ball end caps, but everyone seems to think I should still be able to raise the clamshell via the switch, and I cannot, so I have no idea what to do from here to get under the clamshell...if any of you have any recommendations PM me so we don't clog this thread with off-topic stuff, or just post in the thread I made about the incident.

Hey, ketsa, I'm afraid you're a few days late with your challenge picture, so I'll have to dock that last point, but we will continue with your latest challenge that came with that post, since that's what you would have had to do anyways.

And that little kart's pretty awesome!

Next - Boxster in the snow

A nice sunny 55° day today in rainland.

Overdrive 10-29-2011 07:40 PM

Boxster in the snow :(

Spinnaker, nice touch with the ransom response.

I was wondering who was going to be the opportunist to ask us up here suffering this pre-Halloween BS that Mother Nature threw at us to supply a picture of our vehicle in the snow. So I figured I'd be the opportunist to supply one and get a point in here for old time's sake:

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/9...to10292316.jpg

...I think she's just a wee bit out of her element here...

So for the next challenge, I'll say Boxster, top down, at the beach**Challenge not met, please see post #273 for latest challenge**, to make us folks up north feel a bit better.

The unfortunate thing is, while I can supply such a picture, it's a bit frustrating as I'm waiting for my new car cover to arrive in the mail, so the car's suffering under about 6 inches of slushy fluff that's supposed to keep falling into tomorrow morning.

Thankfully it's far away from all the trees whose brances have been snapping off. In the 2 minutes or so it took me to turn on the lights of the car behind it and snap the following pic, I heard at least 3 trees' branches snapping and falling to the ground, and more are snapping off and falling as I write.

Here's what's been happening in my neighborhood:
http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/7...to10292235.jpg

Sorry for the huge picture sizes, my phone actually takes halfway decent pictures and they come out enormous (didn't feel like resizing either). But yeah, that's maybe 1/5th of the tree in front of my house now laying across my yard and sidewalk. That was a few hours ago. There are now several other pieces of it laying across the street, and some hanging right over the powerlines in front of our house looking like they're ready to break too...sure hope they don't, but of course as soon as I say this it starts to get windy around here...joy.

Overdrive 10-31-2011 10:01 AM

Well for all the jabs we northerners have been getting in Johnny Danger's thread about the crazy snowfall I'd expect someone who has all that nice weather would snap a pic of their car at the beach (Jäger!). Ah, well, if I end up having to dock my own point, so be it, at least no one can say I didn't supply a pic for the game from here.

Highlow 10-31-2011 01:23 PM

I might have a pic of it right on the water, but there isn't any sand so I don't think it would count.

Overdrive 10-31-2011 01:28 PM

Is it actually at a beach, though? If so, any sort of way of proving it?

Highlow 10-31-2011 04:50 PM

It's on the inter coastal right on a seawall, does that count as a beach?

Overdrive 10-31-2011 07:35 PM

I guess it's a little too late, HighLow, I'll nix my point and set up another challenge, but I'm doing this on my phone so I have no idea if the formatting will work. If not I'll have to make an edit tomorrow.

How about this, as it leaves plenty of room for creativity:

Boxster with junk in your trunk(s)

fivepointnine 10-31-2011 08:53 PM

ironically I was just at the beach yesterday (westport, wa) but did not drive the Porsche, drove the Saab since we took our son

Overdrive 11-01-2011 12:13 PM

...I know the rest of the country didn't put their cars away like we did up here, and I know that those of you who haven't have got to have something in your trunks...

Spinnaker 11-01-2011 01:21 PM

Everybody's O/D'ed (pun intended) on Halloween candy.

BTW, nobody is taking a picture of my junk and I don't care if you even work for the TSA.

Overdrive 11-01-2011 01:31 PM

We didn't have a Halloween here, Spinn. No power and power lines all over the ground meant the trick-or-treating would've been a bit too scary and dangerous for the lil' ones. I do have a picture of my car completely frozen Monday morning. My black top looks grey. I think I'll go snap some insurance for myself and take a picture of my frunk and trunk...figured this ought to be easy....maybe people are embarrassed to show that they don't keep their trunks free of stuff? :D

Spinnaker 11-01-2011 01:52 PM

Actually, I'd have to fill my car up with stuff. I leave it empty for the most part, except for an emergency kit with jumper cables and a 12v aircompressor. Don't think they qualify as junk.

Hang in there, the weather will get better at some point. I thought I had it bad last year when we got snow in November here in Seattle.

Overdrive 11-01-2011 02:02 PM

Maybe not "junk" as far as being useless, but it is stuff, lol. I think everyone's got varying ideas on junk, some prefer to have nothing at all in cars like these, I know. I think I've got a few bottles of drinks and an umbrella in my trunks from my last rides when it was just raining and not snowing in the middle of fall.
