Pictures of the trunks. In the back tools, parts, portable power (for the computer and air compressor if I need it), and in the front a case of California wine, suitcase and enough room for computer bag. I also have a bag in the passenger side floor containing shoes.

I used to live in Michigan so now is the time of year to enjoy a trip along Lake Michigan. I am pulling for you.
If you get by Louisville, KY on your way home stop and say hi.

Wishing you a great trip. I am a little jealous.
I'm stopping in Springdale Arkansas for a short visit with family. Highway 40 into Arkansas then north to Michigan.

I have not kept track of the gas mileage but I have been keeping an eye on the oil level. So far no oil consumption to speak of.

Getting closer to the Texas state border... Has anyone heard the song Highway 40 Blues? Driving the last 100 miles has become a little dull, the landscape is flat and the road is straight. The only viewable entertainment is the lightning scattered to the north of me. I got my kicks on Route 66 now I'm starting to sing the Highway 40 Blues. Things will get much better tomorrow when I get into Oklahoma.

Hey, Jäger, my friend lives in Fayetteville, and she's been seeing a lot of Boxsters lately, she tells me. It seems you're not quite in that territory yet, but I told her to keep a lookout for yours in the area when I saw that you said you're headed to Springdale.

Have fun, and enjoy the scenery change.

Wow, you're very brave to do this with a 213k miles porsche! I assume you have also brought along some car cleaning supplies?

I've always wanted to do a cross-country road trip with a convertible...! It's the American Dream come true!

Oh and I hope you stay out of bat country.

Two Big Rigs caught fire on west-bound highway 40, near the New Mexico/Texas state border, investigation under way.
You saw it here first on 986forum.

Cool thread haha, I'll jump in your ride - subscribed.

And btw... don't you have no feelings for other members who would (possibly) kill to be able to do what you are doing?! AZ sunsets, Lone Star state wonderings, Texannnn style burgers, breakfast biscuits, driving along, a PORSCHE, actually thinking of all this you are horible mate

Keep them coming, awsome drive

Good Morning! I am actually up and getting on the road early (6:00 AM). This leg of the journey will take me to Springdale Arkansas... Approximately 8 hours road time taking it easy.

Wow. Cool thread. Keep this coming.

In just over a month We'll be taking a semi-long road trip to Flagstaff,Az for PCA Escape. Leaving from SF-Bay Area. I'm really looking towards this drive. Seeing you're already on a road trip it's making me jealous.

Cheers

i'm so sorry you have to drive into arkansas. the most miserable parts of my trips are always through arkansas. the trucks tear up the roads and they are absolutely horrendous.

(oh and watch out for troopers - if you see Trooper Perry of the Humbolt Co. Sherrif's Department tell him I said hello.)

wait until you see all the bugs that collect on your bumper. did you bring any car wash supplies?
