Hmmm, curious how they diagnosed it. A Tip is pretty reliable but they do fail. The key is what the fluid looked like. If it was still clean and clear I suspect the Tip is still serviceable. If it looked discolored and full of shiny bits the Tip is a goner. Might be worth asking.
