Cup Holders or CD Rack?

I see that Pelican has an "upper storage bin" for my 02 S. What exactly would I be replacing, the cupholders or the CD storage rack? I really don't have use for either, but I want to put my sunglasses and cell somewhere and the CD rack is kind of useless to me since i'm an iPod kinda guy (just need a head unit that accepts it).

TIA

Relocate your heater/ac controls to the top (which I am guessing is where the cup holder is now) and have two storage cubbies in the lower console.

This imho will get rid of the totally useless cd storage unit and the next to useless cup-holder and give you a little extra actual useful storage area

Difficult to move the heater/ac? I noticed in a pic I saw of an '03 that it was on top. I hate looking down to it behind the gearshift anyway...

Replacing the center console ashtray with a "non-smoker's kit" yields very useful phone/ipod/spare change storage.

I agree with adding the storage cubbies at the lower section of the dash as well.

03-04 have an entirely different cupholders design but still pain in the butt if you want it to hold coffee unless you bring in tsunami / spill-proof cup.

Search for "cupholderectomy" here and on Renntech.org.

I did it and haven't looked back.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I've got a storage cubbie, if you want to part with your cup holder just let me know.
