Brand new rear plastic Regalite window- how to protect?

Is there anything one can do to protect the clear plastic window when they are new? I just replaced mine at a local upholstery shop because the previous one cracked. Is there a spray or something that can strengthen and protect the window?

Also, I noticed that a particular area creases when I drop the top (same spot where the previous one cracked). I cringe when I see that happening to a brand new rear window. Anything I can do to minimize the damage?

Red face Help with window

Take the time to put your window down about 1/3 of the way and stop. Get out and use your hand to gently help crease it in down the middle. Then put a piece of flannel (you can get at any cloth store) from one side to the other. This will keep the windo from coming in contact with it's self and chaffing over time. I do this almost everytime and it does help and give peace of mind.

I don't know of any spray you can use. Just take extra care when folding and cleaning. Use only water and a soft cloth. I keep both a cleaning cloth and flannel in the trunk.

Hope this helps.

I do the same thing with mine. About half way down and get out and use my hand to even out the fold so there is no kink. works great,
Ken
