Can you Disable Trunk Latch with Top Down

They say there is no such thing as a stupid question...but I am not so sure. I have a 2004 Boxster and unless I am wrong there does not appear to be a way to secure the trunk(s) when you park the car with the top down. Am I missing something? My MR2 had a locking device that disabled the latch but I don't see anything on the Porsche. Thanks for your help

My car uses levers to open the trunks. The levers can't be actuated without opening the driver's door. So that's the security. Later cars used buttons to open the trunks. I'm not sure about locking on those.

If I park with the top down I always roll the window up with the red clip on. They can't reach the buttons that way and I assume those buttons don't work when the car alarm is enabled.

Not sure what red clip you are refering to but I recall reading about this somewhere..something to show that your alarm is on..?? Good point though I suppose if I lock the car that might engage the alarm and if they tried to open the door by reaching inside perhaps the alarm would go off..I will have to experiment with that..thanks

The red clip (search for it) activates the interior alarm sensors by pressing the microswitch above the rear-view mirror - it tricks the car into thinking the top is up.

Simple. Just lock the car. Locking disables the trunk switches.
