Strange Wiper Problem

Hi All,
I have a 97 Boxster and the wipers and fluid work fine with the ignition on but when I start the car they dont work. Turn the engine off they work again. Any thoughts

any other weir electrical issues?

tough to remove key? No clunk when removing key? Radio stays on? A/C won't come on or blower doesn't work?

My first inclination is electrical portion of ignition switch has gone bad. Not 100% yet. $10 DIY part if you order online from someone like ************************************************************ or can be picked up locally for $35 from audi dealer.

Do a search on ignition switch and you'll find lots of info and DIY how to R&R.

Thanks, looks like that is the issue. If I wiggle the key with the engine running they will come on. Have a new one on the way and practicing my yoga for the install.

Great. In the mean time... I'd suggest putting on a battery maintainer for any extended periods when the car will not be used. Bad ignition switches (when the go completely crap) can leave all the electronics active thus killing your battery in short order.
