Boxster central locking problem

Hi, I am a new Boxster owner(04 2.7S Facelift) - I have a problem with my key fob central locking button not working; I have to open door with key and this sets the alarm off. Put key in ignition, car starts and alarm stops. Once done key fob button works. Will also work for a period of couple of days but after say 5 days same problem occurs. Anyone know what the problem is? Nigel

The alarm is working exactly as it is supposed to. It disables after 5 days to prevent excessive draw on the battery. Not sure why it goes off when you use the key to open the door. It should disable the alarm when you turn the key in the door.
