I agree. I already have after market HID in mine. But I want to lose the amber. Also, my plastic housing is turning yellow.... on one of the lights! It looks terrible.
Still, a fine effort on the mod. Well done. I would've done it myself if it wasn't for the yellowing and the amber as mentioned. Anyway, an update on contacting the manufacturer. I got a reply back, asking what sort company I am and how I intend to sell these lights. I said we are a car club, selling/buying online. And haven't heard from them since. That was 3 days ago. |
I have seen these headlights on Ebay Australia a couple months ago. dunno, might look good or total chess! ill be willing to pay $600 for the set
|

Let's revive this topic, on the account of my new acquisition. :-)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01/h11325658131.jpg

Looks like a brand new car, compared to my old amber headlights. I can't stop staring at my car now. :-) |

A close up before I installed them. Quality is very good, despite feeling surprisingly light. They didn't come with HID lights, only halogen, so need another trip to eBay for some cheap HID lights. |

How much and how do they look at night? |
Hey jinster, I noticed that your box is a right hand drive as well... did you get the RHD headlights ? Where did you get it ?
I'm also looking for a set of rhd h/lights. However, the one I found on ebay list some defects on the RHD versions... was yours ok ? Your new lights sure look good ! |
wow finally pics on an actual car. LOOKing good! How's the cut off of the projectors? Put your car next to a wall or garage to see if there are crisp lines and no hot spots
|
That looks sexy! I want to go to there :D
|
these look even better than i thought I've seen them on ebay but haven't seen pics of them on anyones car. How hard were they to install/ any fitment issues?
|
so it uses a standard halogen bulb, without any lense to direct the light?
the round bit that looks like a HID unit is just empty plastic? how well do they work at night? |
Ok, to answer your queries
1. No fitment issues at all 2. Yep, it's the RHD version off eBay for $1099 shipped. I can't see any imperfections at this stage - but admittedly I didn't look very hard (why spend effort to look for something tiny that would make you unhappy) 3. The round things are projector lenses - but the lights only come with halogen globes. I have already switched them to HID bulbs - there is a very distinct cut-off/level to the beam. But my left-hand beam is angling slightly high. I will need to adjust the headlight mounting plate. 4. I will post some pics of what they look like lit up at dusk with the parking lights. Suffice to say, it's very "Audi-like" with the DRL LED look. |

Those are the same ones by the look of them, but in LHD. Mine was $1100 shipped to Australia, RHD version.

Which HID bulbs did you get to put in these?
|
My old lights had H4 HID bulbs in them, from eBay for around $50 including shipping. I had to buy a set of new H1 bulbs to suit these, for around $9 on eBay, including shipping. I kept the original ballast from the original eBay kit, and just changed the bulbs over.
You can get a whole H1 kit for around $40. Here |
