oil leak ?

I put in a new motor mount and 997 shifter today. i was looking at the spark plugs because they are next on the list. I happened to notice that there is oil leaking down the cover on the passengers side middle spark plug area. i know that the 03 does not have spark plug tubes and the cam covers were done just before i bought the car . could this be the AOS leaking from the top ? i have noticed much bigger plumes of smoke at start up lately
and some burning oil smell. any help would be greatly appreciated .

there's a very good chance it is your Oil Pressure Switch. it was on mine.

it's a metal housing with a plastic insert and the metal contact runs thru that. the plastic gets hard and the oil slips out past the contact. this has been a notoriously faulty part on VW/Audi/Porsches for decades...
