Another way (which is what I did), is to fool the car into thinking the armrest storage bin lid is not latched. This will trigger an audible chirp when locking the car. Test it out by not closing the lid completely and locking the car. If you like it, then you can simply disconnect this switch so that it will do it all the time (access by removing the ashtray).

Since the armrest lid notification is completely unimportant anyway, you can actually get a useful function out of disabling it.
the chirp is telling you (a) you "double locked" or (b) something that is monitored is not closed - lid, trunk, front trunk... eiher way, as a result, the doors lock but the montion sensor is disabled, so that if someone cuts the top and steals your sunglasses, the alarm will not go off.

i am OCD as well, and i "check" that it was locked by
1 - watching the red LED on the dash blink
2 - if it is dark outside, the interior lights fade more quickly than if the car was not locked
and
3 - pulling half-way on the door handle, if it is locked, the window will not drop.

I didn't know about the double lock noise, but you're saying that actually disables the motion sensor? Dang. So close to such an easy solution!

I just make sure I'm in a position to see the lights blink twice. it only takes 2 seconds to turn and watch the car.
