Rear tires: diver one sticks out more then passenger

I'm trying to determine the biggest size of spaces to put on the rear of my S with turbo twists and 275/35/18 wheels plus one inch drop.

When mesure the side wall to the inner fender the driver one seems to be about 1 inch clearance and the passenger 3/4 of a inch or a little more.

Why is there a difference?

I'm deciding with 25mm, too big?

Interesting, I think one of my sides sticks out a tiny bit more than the other as well
